Migration guide

Import fan history without surprise billing.

Bring Patreon, Ko-fi, Gumroad or CSV supporter history into a Fan Passport claim flow safely.

Guide overview

Supporter history matters, but it should not become a surprise charge or automatic access change. ClaimYourRank treats imports as fan-history records first. You can review rows, mask private information, resolve duplicates and decide what becomes visible before fans claim a Passport.

Guide sections

What to review

Each section keeps Fan Passport identity, recognition, access and paid support clearly separated.

What you can import

You can prepare supporter history from Patreon, Ko-fi, Gumroad or CSV exports. Typical fields include display name, email, platform, tier, amount, currency, first support date, last support date and notes. Not every file needs every field. ClaimYourRank detects useful columns and keeps uncertain data in review.

What import can create

An import can prepare fan records, founding badge candidates, Passport claim links, Community Recognition entries and migration reports. These tools help you reconnect with real supporters without pretending old data is a current paid subscription.

What import never creates

An import must not create payments, subscriptions, invoices, active memberships, paid access records or gated-content access. A fan should never be billed because their old support history was imported.

Review before publishing

Clean rows can be accepted in bulk. Unclear rows should stay in exception queues such as missing email, duplicate match, unknown tier, inactive fan or conflicting identity. Keep exceptions private until you decide what to do with them.

Invite fans to connect

After review, fans can connect their history through a creator-specific invite flow. The invite connects their supporter record to their Fan Passport and lets them choose visibility.

Checklist

  • Export supporter history from the source platform
  • Upload or map the file in ClaimYourRank
  • Review detected fields and unsafe rows
  • Resolve duplicates and missing emails
  • Decide which historical badges or recognition entries should go live
  • Publish invite-ready records only when ready
  • Share the invite link with your community

Does importing old fans cost money?

No automatic charge is created by importing supporter history.

Can an imported fan get paid access automatically?

No. Importing history is recognition history only. Paid access requires an active Support Pass, paid perk, paid drop, gated purchase or creator grant.

Can fans stay private?

Yes. Invitations should support private, creator-visible, public or anonymous public visibility.
